Bellevue Bicycle Club
The Bellevue Bicycle Club of Bellevue, Nebraska is dedicated to the encouragement of all aspects of bicycling, including touring and mountain biking. The purpose of the club is to sponsor recreational cycling activities, encourage bicycling as a transportation alternative, and to promote bicyclists' rights and safe bicycling practices. BBC is a volunteer, non-profit organization.
Members of the club strongly believe in bicycle advocacy and community involvement. Their participation in programs such as Bike to Work, Share the Road and The Ride of Silence have helped show the community that bicyclists have rights to the road, too. The club supports a number of charitable organizations and donates volunteer hours to various local cycling events, such as the club's annual Spoke & Hub Century.

Bellevue Citizen Complete Streets Advisory Panel
The city of Bellevue has adopted a “Complete Streets Ordinance” where all modes of transportation (Vehicle, Pedestrian and cyclist) are considered in planning new traffic projects. The Bellevue Citizen Complete Streets Advisory Panel (CCSAP) seeks public input on transportation issues within the City and surrounding communities in any of the following areas:
- Pedestrian rights-of-way and sidewalks;
- Roads, streets, intersections, and traffic control;
- Bike paths and bike lanes;
- Public transportation/MAT service;
The panel investigates transportation and safety-related matters and recommends actions to the City of Bellevue.

THOR “Trails Have Our Respect”
THOR is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to developing and maintaining sustainable off-road recreational trails in Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa by providing expertise, manpower and resources. THOR designs, builds and maintains many trails in and around Omaha, Council Bluffs, Fremont and Lincoln in accordance with International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) guidelines. THOR promotes environmental responsibility and care for public lands, and is a positive role model for trail advocacy, use and care.

Community Bike Project Omaha
The Community Bike Project works to improve access to bicycles for everyone. The Community Bicycle Shop Omaha has been primarily focused on basic shop operations, repairing donated bikes to sell, hosting occasional bike rodeos, utilizing a “mobile bike repair station,” a fund-raising concert at Slowdown, and an annual awards ceremony for shop volunteers. CBPO engaged in a variety of activities including; Our Open Shop program, bicycle repair & maintenance classes, bicycle safety classes, a monthly Ladies Night, and bike rodeos.

Annual Ride of Silence
the Ride of Silence will traverse and unite the globe as nothing before it. Cyclists will take to the roads in a silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways. Although cyclists have a legal right to share the road with motorists, the motoring public often isn't aware of these rights, and sometimes not aware of the cyclists themselves.
In 2003,Chris Phelan organized the first Ride of Silence in Dallas after endurance cyclist Larry Schwartz was hit by the mirror of a passing bus and was killed.
The Ride of Silence is a free ride that asks its cyclists to ride no faster than 12 mph, wear helmets, follow the rules of the road and remain silent during the ride. There are no registration fees. The ride, which is held on the Third Wednesday of May, aims to raise the awareness of motorists, police and city officials that cyclists have a legal right to the public roadways. The ride is also a chance to show respect for and honor the lives of those who have been killed or injured.
